Holbox is a small island located to the north of the coast of peninsula Yucatán. Famous for being the escape sanctuary of whale sharks, the charming island is an ideal destination for nature lovers and those that seek peace and tranquility. The island has no asphalt, sandy roads where you can only see bicycles and golf carts give Holbox a very relaxed caribbean vibe.
A mini van for up to 12 people will take you from your location (anywhere on Riviera Maya) to Chiquila - starting point to Holbox. Small groups allow less waiting time and better organization. A ride in a small boat, passing by smaller islands in the Holbox group will allow you to observe different birds in their natural protected habitat. You will swim in a cenote Yalahau, which is lagoon like sinkhole with crystal clear water. It forms a part of the natural reserve park. After lunch you will take a trip to Punta Mosquitos which is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on Holbox with infinite shallow water and white sand. In 2 hours of free time on the island you can enjoy the beach, explore around or rent a bicycle and look for Holbox coloured letters around town.
